Zuster Thecla o.p. is geprofest te Voorschoten op 30 april 1924. Zij was als oudste meisje in het gezin Martens-Giesbers een steun, mdat moeder veel ziek was. Ze wist van aanpakken en deed wat gedaan moest worden, zonder gezeur of geklaag. Als ze 22 jaar is, gaat ze naar het klooster en als twee later haar moeder sterft en ze naar huis wil, zegt haar vader dat maar rustig moet blijven waar ze is.
Van de familie kiezen nog drie zussen en drie broers voor het religieuze leven. Haar zus Antonia (Zuster Benvenuta o.p.) heeft haar in haar allerlaatste dagen bijgestaan.
