Gerrit is nog getuige bij het huwelijk van zijn zoon Jan in 1813; ze woonden toen te Oud-Over in de gemeente Loenen.
Bij Family Search wordt de huwelijksdatum van 17.02.1768 vermeld.
Het jonge stel ging wonen op de Horndijk te Oud-Loosdrecht. Daar kocht Gerrit samen met Ary Evenblij een huis. Volgens de dorpsrekeningen van Loosdrecht betaalden zij op 19 mei 1768 den 1e termijn Coop pen(ningen) van jet Huys in de Horn f 35:-:- (GAL inv.nr. 51, lid 266) en op 28 december 1769 de tweede termijn van f 7:-:- (GAL, inv. nr. 51, fol.296vo)

Het gezin vertrekt in 1774 met twee kinderen, t.w. Geertje, 4 jr en Willem, 2 jr., naar Loenen (G.A.L. inv. nr. 39) Het gezin leeft kennelijk onder behoeftige omstandigheden; de diaconie van Oud-Loosdrecht betaalde op 5.2.1783 aan J. Kleinen Breugel f 6:9:- wegens onderwijs van twee kinderen van G" Krook te Loenen. Ook van de diaconie van Loenen kregen ze wat geld: "4/7 portie t.b.v. Gt. Krook (zijnde f 21:5:-)
