Op 2 maart 1905 wordt hij ingedeeld als loteling bij het 93 regiment infanterie.
Op 6 maart 1905 gaat hij een vrijwillige verbintenis aangegaan.
Op 15 juli 1905 wordt hij benoemd tot Korporaal, aspirant militie-officier.
Op 7 september 1905 wordt hij bevorderd tot Milicien-Sergeant.
Op 1 maart 1906 gaat hij met groot verlof (later weer terug enz. tot 3 feb 1910).
Op 24 maart 1906 wordt hij bij Koninklijk Besluit No. 97 benoemd tot Militie-Tweede-Luitenant.
Op 1 september 1907 treedt hij indienst als Surnumerair P en T bij het Telegraafkantoor te Rotterdam.
Op 13 mei 1909 slaagt hij voor het PTT examen Morse en Sounderd.
Op 19 juni 1909 slaagt hij voor het PTT examen Nederlands en Frans, maar niet voor Telegraafdienst.
31 december 1910: besluit tot overplaatsing van Telegraafkantoor Rotterdam naar Postkantoor Rotterdam per 1 maart 1910.
Op 7 januari 1910 slaagt hij alsnog voor het PTT examen Telegraafdienst.
Op 1 februari 1910 wordt hij benoemd tot Militie-Eerste-Luitenant bij het 2e batallon.
Op 1 maart 1910 verhuist hij van Telegraafkantoor (tkt) naar Postkantoor (pkt) te Rotterdam.
19 maart 1911: besluit tot overplaatsing van PTT Rotterdam (pkt) naar Tiel per 1 april.
Op 1 april 1911 begin hij met zijn werkzaamheden te Tiel.
Op 8 apr1l 1911 slaagt hij voor het PTT examen Postdienst.
7 juni 1911: besluit tot overplaatisng van Tiel naar Postkantoor Amsterdam (pkt) per 16-6-1911.
Op 13 juni 1911 wordt hij bevorderd tot Commies PTd 4e klasse.
Op 1 augustus 1913 wordt hij ingedeeld bij de Landweer Infanterie, 25e Landweerdistrict.
Op 1 november 1913 wordt hij bij een reorganisatie ingedeeld bij Landweersidtrict Amsterdam IV.
Op 7 april 1914 wordt hij ingedeeld bij Landweerdistrict Heerenveen.
23 maart 1917: besluit tot bevordering tot Commies PTd 3e klasse per 16-6-1917.
Op 1 mei 1918 treedt hij ·Äúin werkelijken dienst·Äù. Mobilisatie-opkomst.
Op 28 mei 1918 gaat hij met onbepaald klein verlof.
10 februari 1919: besluit tot overplaatsing van Postkantoor Amsterdam naar Postkantoor Leeuwarden per 1-2-1919.
28 augustus 1919: besluit tot bevordering tot Commies PTd 2e klasse per 1-1-1918.
Op 1 december 1919 gaat hij met groot verlof.
11 februari 1920: besluit: in geval van mobilisatie wordt hij directeur van het Veldpostkantoor III.
19 februari 1920: benoemd tot Commies b/d PTd met terugwerkende kracht vanaf 1-1-1920.
Op 1 december 1920 wordt hij eervol ontslagen uit militaire dienst.
Van 15 september 1925 t/m 2 juni 1927 neemt hij het beheer waar te Holwerd, Ameland, ·Äúbeheervoering correct·Äù.
Op 23 januari 1929 wordt hij aangespoord zich de hughesbevoegdheid eigen te maken.
23 april 1929: besluit tot bevordering tot Referendaris 2 der PTT met terugwerkend kracht vanaf 11 november 1928.
28 december 1931: besluit tot overplaatsing van Leewarden pkt naar Leeuwarden ptkt per 16-1-1932.
Op 27 december 1933: besluit tot bevordering tot Referendaris 2/Directeur en overplaatsing naar Doorn per 16-2-1934.
Op 25 augustus 1939 wordt hij tijdelijk benoemd tot reserve-majoor bij het wapen der genie met terugwerkende kracht vanaf 11 april 1939.
1940 Mobilisatie
Op 10 mei 1940 wordt het veldpostkantoor N0. 3 te ·Äòs Hertogenbosch afgebroken en marcheren zij af naar Culemborg.
23 mei 1940: rapportage van Majoor directeur Veldpostkantoor No.3 aan Commandant III L.K.
Op 6 juni 1940 gaat hij met groot verlof.
24 september 1942 besluit tot bevordering tot Referendaris Directeur en overplaatsing naar het PTT kantoor Stadskanaal met ingang van 15-10-1942.
Op 29 oktober 1947 besluit overplaating naar ptkt Assen per 16-11-1947.
3 januari 1949: besluit tot bevordering tot Directeur 2e klasse per 1-1-1948.
Op 1 mei 1950 gaat hij met ontslag bij het Postkantoor Assen.

7 januari 1958, rouwadvertentie:
·ÄúTot onze grote droefheid overleed heden onze lieve zorgzame man, vader, behuwd- en grootvader JOHAN HENRI GASAU oud-referendaris-directeur PTT, in de ouderdom van 72 jaar.
