Jun. 5, 1930 Matheson Elbert County Colorado, USA Death: Jul. 28, 1956 Modesto Stanislaus County California, USA PHILLIP BENJAMIN FERREE was the second of six children born to Vern and Pauline (Smith) Ferree. He was born June 5 1930, 4 miles south and 2 miles east of Matheson, Colorado on the Ferree family homestead. Ben attended rural Elbert County, Colorado schools. After the death of his mother on July 5 1937, he was sent to the Odd fellows Home in Canon City, Colorado. When his father remarried on June 4 1939, he was able to return home. Phillip Benjamin served in the Navy. Ben married Miss Virginia Christine Jackson in 1949 in California. He was father to 2 little girls; one was 5 years old, the other was 2. Phillip Benjamin Ferree died in a logging truck accident on July 28 1956 in Modesto, California. Those left to morn his passing were his wife, Virginia; his daughters, Linda and Sharon; his maternal grandparents, Benjamin and Ethel (Mealio) Smith; two brothers, Herbert Ferree and Paul Pearson; three sisters, Mrs Beulah Noy, Mrs Delores Street and Mrs Gladys Bridges. His parents preceded him in death. Ben was buried at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Oroville, California.
