Vanaf circa 1920 woonden Louis en Bartha de facto gescheiden, het huwelijk werd echter niet ontbonden. Bartha vertrok 21-06-1920 van 's-Gravenhage naar Arnhem (Hertogstraat 38), 06-05-1921 kwam zij uit Vlaardingen weer terug, om op 14-10-1921 opnieuw naar Vlaardingen te vertrekken (waarschijnlijk naar schoonzuster Riebeek. Op 25-07-1922 keerde zij terug in 's-Gravenhage. Van 19-01 tot 23-06-1934 was zij in Bilthoven, Waterweg 65.
