werd in 1567 verbannen in verband met het aanhangen van de Reformatie en is naar Emden (Oost-Friesland) gevlucht (zie Brandt - Historie van Enkhuizen- 1666 blz. 100). Dirk Brouwer was Ao. 1572, nadat hij naer een sevenjarige Ballingschap om de Gereformeerde Religie van Embden was wedergekeert, een groot instrument ende voornaemste in 't versekeren van Enchuijsen gelijk Emanuel van Meteren getuijgt. Hij vlucht plm. 1568 uit de stad met zijn broeder Cornelis "sonen van wijlen den burgermeester Jan Groot Albertsz" (Brandt Deel I blz. 131 ev.).
