Feb. 1812, a Exeter, N. Y.;.m. Abigail Brainerd Taintor of Colchester, Conn., June 5, 1843; she was the dau. of Capt. Newhall Taintor and descended from Charles Taintor, who was in Conn. before 1643; the Taintors lived in Branford and Windsor, and after 1700 in Colchester, Conn. Eli CORBIN and family lived at McDonough, N.Y., where the children were born. In later life he went to Oxford, N. Y. where he d.. Oct. 29, 1896, and she d. Feb 19, 1894, ae.73. In their memory the Oxford public Library (shown in the illustration) was founded by their children, as indicated by bronze tablet within, bearing the following inscription:"
