Lawson, Ph.B., B.D., "History and Genealogy of the Descendants of Clement Corbin of Muddy River (Brookline) Mass. and Woodstock, Conn.", 1905, pp. 54 & 56 #48 JOSEPH CORBIN (John, Jabez, Clement), b. May 30, 1751, at Thompson Parish, Killingly, Conn.; m. Mary Tallmadge about 1772. She was b. Feb. 21, 1784 at Hamden, near New Haven, Conn., and was the dau. of Daniel and Mary Tallmadge."

Daniel Tallmadge was b. in Hambden, Connecticut, March 30, 1711; m. Mary Thompson, Aug 24, 1738. He lived and died at Hambden, and his estate was administered March 3, 1794. He was the son of Robert and Abigail (Peck) Tallmadge. Robert Tallmadge was b. in Hambden Oct 5, 1684, the son of Thomas Tallmadge (b. Oct 17, 1650, in New Haven, and d. March, 1733), and grandson of Robert Tallmadge, the first settler, who lived in New Haven and d. about 1685. He m. Sarah Nash, dau. of Thomas and Margery (Baker) Nash.

Abagail Peck was b. May 2, 1683, was living in 1768; she was the dau. of Joseph Peck, who was baptized. Sep 5, 1647, and lived and d. in New Haven; he married Sarah, dau. of Roger Alling of New Haven, Nov 28, 1672. Joseph Peck's widow administered his estate in 1720. He was the son of Henry Peck, one of the first settlers of New Haven, in 1638, and who d. in 1651. Roger Alling was another of the first settlers of new Haven, a deacon, and treasurer of the colony in 1661 and for some years after. He d. before 16893; he was a sergeant in the militia (Conn. Col. Records, Vol. I, p. 23). He m. Mary Nash, dau. of Thomas Nash; she d. Aug. 16, 1683. Thomas Nash and wife, Margery Baker, came over as early as 1637. He signed the compact at New Haven, was a gunsmith, and d. may 12, 1658. His wife d. Feb 11, 1656. She was the dau. of Nicholas Baker of Herts. Their children were all b. in England. He was at Guilford in 1639."

From the record of the Pension Bureau--
"Enlisted at Killingly, Sept., 1776, for three months, under Capt. Samuel Chandler, Col. Dennison; served around New York. Enlisted also in Dec., 1778 under the same. Enlisted in the fall of 1778 at Williamstown, Mass., for one month under Capt. Clark, Col. Simons, Enlisted, spring of 1779, for three weeks under the same. Applied for pension at Champlain, N.Y., and received $22.33 per annum from March 4, 1831.

From Massachusetts Soldiers in the Revolution---
"In Capt. Sloan's Company, Col. Barnes' Regiment, Oct. 11-22, 1781, on an alarm to Saratoga."

He removed with his family from Killingly, Connecticut, to Williamstown, Mass., about 1778, and to Champlain, Clinton County, New York, about 1798. He d. at Champlain, NY, Oct 3, 1838. His wife, who was quite an intellectual woman, d. at Champlain, Aug 16, 1638.
