Floris I (1017-1061), Graaf van Holland wordt vermoord te Nederhemert. Bisschop Willem van Utrecht ziet hierin een kans om al het gebied van Floris I te voegen bij het Sticht, omdat het zoontje Dirk V van Floris I nog minderjarig is. De weduwe van Floris I huwde Graaf Robrecht de Fries van Vlaanderen broer van Boudewijn VI van Vlaandren.
volgde zijn broer Dirk IV op als graaf van Holland 1049-1061, trachtte zijn macht uit te breiden in de Bommelerwaard doch werd vermoord bij Nederhemert, GE 28 juni 1061 door handlangers van bisschop Willem van Cuijk.

NOTE: Floris I werd in 1049 graaf inHolland, als opvolger van zijn broer Dirk IV. Hij zette diens zuidwaartseexpansiepolitiek voort. Floris werd op een terugtocht van Zaltbommel vermoord.
Zijn dochter Bertha trouwde met koning Filips I van Frankrijk.
