Jessie Koops
DOWNS Jessie Koops, 94, Downs, died Thursday, July 27, 1989, at the Smith County Hospital, Smith Center.
Mrs. Koops was born April 17, 1895, at Alamoosa, Colo., and was a long-time Downs resident. She was a homemaker and a member of the Dispatch Christian Reforemd Church.
Her husband, Joe, died in 1978.
Survivors include four daughters, Carol Koops and Joyce Koops, both of the home, Ileen Tanis of Downs and Rose Nyhoff of Denver; four sons, Bert and Chester, both of Downs, Roland of Cawker City and John of Denver; a sister, Cora VanderGiesen of Downs; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-grea-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Dispatch Christian Reformed Church, the Rev. Richard DeVries officiating. Burial will be in th eDispatch Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Elim School for the Handicapped or to the church.
Visitation will be 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Domoney Funeral Home, Downs.
