Notes about James Jim Koops


KOOPS - James Koops, age 86, of Hudsonville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 1, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Johanna; his five children, Jenean and Jim McLean, Robert and Marlene Koops, Merle and Barbara Koops, Joy and Tom DeBoer, Wayne Koops; nine grandchildren, Chad McLean, Rachael Koops, Andrea and Andy Boeskool, Aaron and Sarah Koops, Jillinda and Jeremy Palmbos, Renae and James Scott, Jim DeBoer, Al Koops, Jared Koops; six great grandchildren, Harlow, Micah, Noah, Abbigail, Anna, Payton. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter and many other cherished family members. Mr. Koops served his church faithfully as an Elder and a Deacon, and served his country during WWII. Funeral services will be conducted at Hudsonville First Christian Reformed Church on Thursday, May 5, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dave Jolman and Rev. Robert Holwerda officiating. Interment Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the VanderLaan Funeral Home in Hudsonville on Wednesday, May 4, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hudsonville Christian School or Faith Hospice.
