De familie Blom (Blume, Bloem) is van oorsprong afkomstig uit het Koninkrijk Pruissen (plaats: Volkmar) en is rond 1800 in de regio Kennemerland: (Heemstede, Bennebroek en Vogelenzang) neergestreken. Daarna grotendeels in de Haarlemmermeer en Haarlem terechtgekomen, maar ook in Frankrijk en Australië zijn de Blommen inmiddels te vinden.

Van de aangetrouwde kant is een deel van de stamboom grotendeels in beeld, dit betreft o.a. de familienamen: Post, Heemskerk, van Esveld, Schols, Veldhuizen, van Neste, Duivens, de Bie, Houkes, Huigen, Staats, van Ophem en Apeldoorn.
