Notes about Albert Edward PARRISH

1911 aged 7, living at Gravenhurst, Ampthill with parents, Reuben and Adeline Parrish, widowed great uncle Thomas Parrish, and seven siblings.

Albert Edward (always known as Jack) was born on 31 July 1903 and Ken on 18 August 1907, both at Gravenhurst. They married two sisters, Marian and Beryl Headey in 1931 and 1933 respectively.

The sisters were the daughters of Henry Charles Headey and his wife Pattie Elizabeth of Dunstable. The latter was a daughter of Francis George who had been co-tenant of Cart's Farm, with his brother, before Reuben Parrish bought it in 1920.

The four newly-weds settled (perhaps not at first but soon) at Manor Farm, Higham Gobion, near Barton, where they lived amicably all their lives. They each had three children:
Jack and Marian had Candida (b.1938), John (b.1940) and Peter (b.1944), while Ken and Beryl had
Richard (b.1940), Genevieve (b.?) and Corin (b.1943).

Over the years the two brothers built up a very successful farming business, buying a number of farms in Bedfordshire and ending up owning upwards of 2000 acres. The business eventually got into debt and the family faced some difficult times.

Jack died in1971. and Ken in I979. Marian died in l990, and Beryl in 1984.
