De afstamming van Redert BASTMEYER, mijn oudste broer, maakt inzichtelijk wie onze voorouders waren.

Naar ik heb begrepen komt mijn manier van aanpak neer op de "lineaire toepassing van het cognatisch bilaterale systeem van afstamming".

Dat wil zeggen dat ik mijn best doe om zoveel mogelijk van onze mannelijke en vrouwelijke voorouders in kaart te brengen. 

De boom kan gemakkelijk worden uitgebreid met broers en zussen van die voorouders maar omwille van de helderheid heb ik er vooralsnog voor gekozen om al die mensen buiten beschouwing te laten.

Het resultaat van deze werkwijze is dat iedere persoon in deze boom - eenvoudig aanwijsbaar - een voorouder van ons is.
