"POST, EVERT POST, ANNA KETTWICH
Soon after his discharge from service in the first World War, Evert Post and his bride, Anna Kettwich, of Flanagan, Illinois, loaded their few belongings on a boxcar, destination Titonka, Iowa. There they started farming.
At that time there was still some virgin prairie. Untiled sloughs, mud roads, kerosene lamps and lanterns were commonplace. Wood and cob stoves were all part of the good old days. they saw many changes in their lifetime, from horse andbuggy days to men on the moon.
After farming through droughts and floods, good times and bad, they retired to Titonka where they resided until their deaths.
They had five children: Viona Welhousen, Titonka, her husband, Wilbur, deceased, one daughter; Melvin and Berneice, Algona, two daughters: Arthur and his wife, Marvella, Titonka, five children; Erwin and his wife, Troyce, now living onthe home place, eight children; Berneice and her husband, DeWayne Maass, Lakota, three daughters."
