"... Just got back from Marshall, Minnesota where we had a noon meal with my sister and her family.
Yes, my connection is William Jacob Rogers. Ethel Rowley was my aunt.
William died in 1920 in Murray County and is buried in the Wilmont Cemetery. There were four children in the family-Ethel the youngest-my mother, Doris who was 5 years old when her father died and two boys Alvin and Clifford.
The children were placed in the different Rogers households when my grandmother remarried. Her second husband did not want anything to do with her children of her first marriage. It was not easy for the kids and they use to run awayfrom the homes they were in to be together. Ethel had it a little easier then my mother. She was the youngest and lived with Great Grandma and Grandpa Rogers. Ethel was able to attend school where my mother was more of a servant.
I never knew I had a Grandmother until I was 18 years old. My mother liked to talk about her life growing up.
The four children did keep in contact with each other until the time of their deaths. ... Char"
