Russel, Lee, Notes to David A. Navorska, (Muncie IN, LR, xv Nov MCMXCIII)
1900 Census for mm/yyyy of birth. Russell, Lee provides dd of birth.

Lee Russell provides this annotated abstract of the 1870 Muncie IN census,
' #169 David Fodge 66 VA (Mansfield) Sarah 62 VA Ward, Emmeline 22 - (sick - married James Riley Clev[enger] (later Dora Alvey came to live & help care for old man, then Emmeline after she was married to JRC.)' - xv Nov MCMXCIII -Muncie, IN
Lee Russell writes, 'Some little boys were always making fun of Dora - Dora had been accused of putting dirty socks in the coffee pot. She would never do such a thing - but she would never tell who she thought did - so this may be whythe Fodges took her in to live with them!' - xv Nov MCMXCIII - Muncie, IN
Lee Russell writes, 'My grandmother was better known as Aunt Dora. She had to live with other people. She never heard from her mother again, and little Dora must have been very sad! But the Clevengers were their neighbors. Someonetaught Dora Alvey to read - later after her marriage, while raising 2 of her sister Lottie's children Hattie, and Chester Goodwin, she read the Bible on Sunday afternoons, when dozens of horses & buggies, parked in the barnyard withpeople coming to the house, because she could read. (she learned to read at a Quaker school - where?) But my mother played the organ and her father led singing. (No one could believe my mother played the organ - but I remember seeing anold pump organ stashed for junk in the woodhouse. - A lady who is now 101 years old, told me about 10 years ago, how mom played the organ - etc. & how she and mom rode those old fashioned bicycles on gravel road near Horseshoe Bend: -there were hills and creeks for kids in Wayne Co., IN!)
Dora Alvey Clevenger had affliction of bronchiastis (sp?) no treatment either but her lungs must have really been congestion. So she read & read L H J & Brooks.' - xv Nov MCMXCIII - Muncie, IN
Lee Russell writes, 'note. My grandmother also had a brown leather-bound Book of Prayers - Church of England. The inscription inside the front cover is written name and date, 'Charlotte Cullen, 1825.' I will presume her son kept book -(Joseph Musson Alvey.) - xx Nov MCMXCIII - Muncie, IN
Lee Russell writes, 'after her mother gave her to David Fodge, who lived next door to the Alveys who had the creamery her mother and Sarah Alvey went to live with John Fox, who bought 1300 acres, developed plats and then he moved toModesto California.'
Lee Russell draws a map & writes, 'Dora born in cabin where Joseph Musson Alvey raised kids.' - viii Jan MCMXCIV - Muncie, IN - She drew the spot a being near Black Mill but on the other side of Mississineroa River.
Lee Russell writes, 'Dora Clevenger dark auburn red hair brown eyes tall large bones was chubby while growing up. Boys teased her for being fat, but her brothers boys were short, stout, strong - they had black hair brown eyes.' - xi JanMCMXCIV - Muncie IN
