AND JENNIE (F433) Quirenus was born January 16, 1860 at Racine, Wisconsin to Will and Ann Harrison. Will and Ann were married in England and arrived in the U. S. by ship in 1854. Q. R. came to Dundy County in 1885 with four brothers: Jack, Elmer, Grant and Douglas and one brother-in-law, Albert Hall to take two homesteads and four tree claims. They went back to Clay County, Nebraska and returned in 1887 to establish homes. Jennie was born November 28, 1875 at Cedar Falls, Iowa to John and Ann Milliken. She arrived in Dundy County with her parents and two brothers, Frank and James. They lived on the place later owned by Jess Petsch, and Raymond Keiser. Q. R. and Jennie were married October 20, 1895. They were the parents of three children: Ruth (Higley) Richards born August 27, 1896, Nellie born January 23, 1897 and dying in infancy, and Fred born September 5, 1900. Fred later owned and farmed the original homestead in 3-36. He and his wife, Edna, had one daughter, Wilma, who is the present owner. Q. R. and Jennie moved to Stratton in 1923. Their home , at the west edge of Stratton, was damaged in the 1935 flood. Q. Harrison, who passed away at his home in Stratton last Friday night, at the age of 81 years 11 months and 24 days. Quirenus Richard Harrison was born in Racine, Wisconsin, January 16, 1860, where he lived with his parents during his boyhood. In 1873 he moved with his parents to Clay Center, Nebraska and in 1890 he moved to Dundy county where he took up a homestead. On October 20, 1895, he was united in marriage to Jennie Milliken. To this union three children were born, one dying in infancy. Those surviving are: Ruth of Stratton, and Fred, who lives on the old home place. In June of 1924, Mr. Harrison left the farm and moved to Stratton, where he resided until the time of his death. About twenty years ago, Mr. Harrison suffered a stroke and had been in poor health ever since. Five brothers have preceded him in death, and just a week ago, January 4, funeral services were held for his brother, Elmer, at Burlington, Colorado. One sister, Mrs. A. W. Hall and three brothers, George, Bert and Will, are still living. Besides these, there remains to mourn the loss of Mr. Harrison, his wife, a daughter, Ruth Richards, and a son, Fred E., and three grandchildren, Dorothy and Wayne Higley, and Wilma Harrison. A number of nephew and nieces also remain, besides the many neighbors and friends. Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church at 1:30 Sunday afternoon, January 11th, Rev. C.C. Deints officiating, and internment was made at Ash Grove. The many friends of the family join in extending sincere and heartfelt sympathy. Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral were: Mr. Harrison's brother, Will Harrison and two nephews, Willis Hall and Walter Harrison, and their wives, all of Clay Center, Nebr., and Frank Milliken.
