In his will made on 10 Dec 1599 and proved on 18 Jan 1599/1600[1], he was recorded as Robert Smithe of Cossham (Corsham), Wiltshire, Gentleman. He made small bequests to the poore of Corsham and the poore of Henley on Thames, Oxforshire. He made bequests to:
his sister Bridgett Berrine, widow;
his sister Agnes Hulbert the wife of John Hulbert, and her two daughters, Suzan and Agnes Hulbert;
his sister Suzan Pincham the wife of William Pincham, and her son John Pinchym;
the five children of his sister Jane Slade, deceased, namely John Slade, William Slade, Anne Slade, Jane Slade and Joan Slade;
Katherin Smithe daughter of his brother Mathew Smithe;
Robert Smithe the son of his brother Matthew Smithe;
Bridgett Kearle, widowe;
Elizabeth Longe, servant to the Lady Wallsingham;
his cousin Clement Fowler;
William Willmott of Henlie.
His Executors were his brothers, Mathew Smithe and Henry Smithe.
His Overseers were his brother in law, John Hulbert of Tyngley within the parish of Corsham, and William Pinchin of Box.
NB: There is no record of a burial for Robert Smyth at Corsham, Wiltshire.
