    Everdina had geen zin in Amersfoort te blijven wonen na de dood van haar echtgenoot Hendrik.
    In de zomer van 1940 verhuisde zij naar Utrecht en vestigde zich in de Eikstraat 47, alwaar ze veel plezier beleefde van de bezoekjes van neefjes en nichtjes.
    Het was er een zoete inval en altijd gezellig.

    Later is haar broer Henk als weduwnaar bij haar ingetrokken en heeft hij zijn genealogisch werk hier voortgezet.

    Er is ook nog een briefkaart van haar geschreven aan haar ouders in de Palmstraat 11, waarin zij schrijft: "Beste vader en moe. Hartelijk dank voor de Eau des Cologne. Ik ben er erg blij mee hoor- 't is goede kwaliteit.
    Ik word gelukkig beter. Maken jullie het allen goed, dag. Groeten aan allen en U zelf, uw dochter D. Komt Dries nog thuis ? Dag Moe!
