Services for Mrs. Hannah Workum Schwab, a Red Cross volunteer Worker here since World War I will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at the Weil funeral home. Burial will be in United Jewish Cemetery.
Mrs. Schwab, who was in her 60th year, died at Jewish Hospital Wednesday after a long illness. Descendant of a family which settled here more than 125 years ago, she lived at 678 N. Crescent Ave.
During the 1937 flood Mrs. Schwab served as head of the Red Cross Disaster food service and in World War II established and managed the snack bar at the Red Cross Blood Bank. She herself gave blood 17 times.
For many years a group of workers met in Mrs. Schwab's home to do Red Cross sewing. In later years she became a gray lady and served at Children's Hospital.
