I Golden Anniversary: On next Saturday, at her residence, on West Fourth street, Mrs. Sarah Levi Workum will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of her arrival in Cincinnati. Mrs. Sarah Levi Worknm, known among berdescendants as "Grandma Workum," was born on the 24th day of December,1799, in Amsterdam, Holland. She came to New York quite young, and married there at the age of twenty-two.
The famIly settled in this city on the 5th day of July, 1829. Her descendants living to-day number fity - eight - six. children, thirty - seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. The six living children are Levi J. Workum, Mrs.
Julius Freiberg, Mrs. M. W. Myers, Mrs. Isaac Monheimer, Mrs.
M. Kahn and Mr. David J. Workum, Levi J. Workum, of the fin of Freibergde Workum, married Miss Hannah Ezekiel, the eldest sister of the sculptor, M.
Ezekiel. They have nine children living, viz.: Jacob L. Workam,' Ezekiel J. Workum, David Workum, Julius Freiberg Workum, the twin sisters, Kate and Sallie Workum, Clara Workum. Grace Workum, Theodore Workum, Workum, wife of Julius Freiberg, has six living children-Minuie.
the eldest daughter, wife of Dr. Jos. Ransoboff, J. Walter, Maurice, Sallie, Clara aud Nettie. Rachel, who was the widow of the late Jacob C.
Cohen, now the wife of M. W. Myers, law librarian, has five children living -Henrietta, Louise M., Abraham, Jacob and Jessie. Clara, wife of Isaac Monheimer, has six children living-Rachel, eldest daughter, wife of Charles Schwab, of Chicago: Carrie, wife of Louis Krohn, formerly of the firm of Krohn, Feis & Co.. of this city: Laura, wife of Edward Senior, of this city.
of the firm of A. Senior & Son: Levi Monheimer and Leonard Monhelmer of the firm of McQuaid & Monheimer Bros.. Chicago. Isadore Monheimer, the youngest son, is with Freiberg & Wor: um. Gertrude, the fifth child, is the wife of Kahn.
David J. Workum married Elizabeth Hart, of New Orleans. Tary have five living children, viz.: J. Clarence Workum, Julis Hart Workum, Sallie, Rachel and Laura. The greatgrandchildren all live in Chicago.
Five are children of Mrs. Rachel Schwab, three of Leonard Monheimer, three of Mrs. Henrietta Cohen, and four of Mrs. Carrie K'ohn. It is expected that her descendants will all be preseut at the anniversary..
