New Orleans, LA.

Father's Vocation - Ex-State Senator;corporation lawyer.
Lieut. Gazzam-Educated at St. Paul's School, Concord, N.H., graduated
1913;graduated Harvard, Class of 1917.

Editor - "Harvard Lampoon."  Contributor - "Harvard Advocate".
Clubs - Spee Club; Hasty Pudding Club; Dickey, Institute if 1770; President
Pennsylvania Club of Harvard; Sharwood Law Club; Delta Phi Fraternity (Eta
Chapter); Union League of Philadelphia; Harvard Club of New York; President,
Leonard Wood Club, University of Pennsylvania.

  Lieut. Gazzam spent three years at the Plattsburg Barracks, N.Y. - 1915, 1916,
1917, and served as first lieutenant in the Harvard Regiment, 1916.

  Youngest officer in Co. B, First Provisional Training Regiment, Plattsburg
Barracks, N.Y.  One of two officers to receive promotion at termination of camp,
August 15, 1917.

  Third prize at Plattsburg for best in "Rookie Rymes" contest.  These poems
have since been published in book form.

  Commissioned Second Lieutenant, Infantry, May 3, 1917.
  First Officers Training Camp, Plattsburg Barracks, May 15 to August 15, 1917.
  Promoted to First Lieutenant August 15, 1917, and assigned to Co. A, 302nd
Inf., Camp Devens, Mass., September 1, 1917, as senior first lieutenant.
  Request for transfer to Pennsylvania troops granted.  Assigned to 154th Depot
Brigade, Camp Meade, Md., November, 1917.

  Assigned to Camp Martin, Radio and Auto Mechanics School, New Orleans,
LA., commanding First Battalion, June 20, 1918.

  Assigned as Commanding Officer, Students' Army Training Corps, Western
Maryland College, Westminster, Maryland, September 20, 1918.

  Request for transfer to Aerial Observation Corps granted.  Assigned as First
Lieutenant F.A. to School of Fire, Fort Sill, Oklahoma, November 11, 1918.
  Honorably discharged from the service, December 17, 1918.
  One of the first thousand officers to be commissioned in the U.S. National
Army.

  Lieutenant Gazzam is now (1920) studying law at the University of
Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pa., Class of 1921.

CLARK-GAZZAM...

Relatives and friends from New York will attend the marriage in Christ Church,
Baltimore, today, of Miss Aileen de la Tour Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Judson Clark, to Joseph M. Gazzam, son of Mrs. Joseph M. Gazzam and
the late Senator Gazzam of Philadelphia.  A reception will follow at the
Belvedere.  Mr. Gazzam is a nephew of Mrs. Edward William Robinson and of
Mrs. George A. Hurd of this city.

  A WEDDING in Baltimore on April 14 of much interest to relatives and friends in
New York will be that of Miss Aileen de la Tour Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Judson Clark of that city, to Joseph M. Gazzam, son of Mrs. Joseph M.
Gazzam and the late Senator Gazzam of Philadelphia.  It will take place in Christ
Church, Baltimore, and the ceremony will be followed by a reception at the
Belvedere. 

  Mr. Gazzam is a nephew of Mrs. Edward William Robinson and of Mrs. George
A. Hurd of this city.  He is a great-great-grandson of Baron Frederick Eugene
Francis deBeelen, first Minister to the United States from Belgium.  Miss Clark is
a granddaughter of the late Louis de la Tour of Lynchburg, Va., and a direct
descendant of Charles de la Tour, first Governor of Nova Scotia.
  Mrs. John Roche Howland of Chicago, the former Miss Alicia Clark, will be
matron of honor for her sister.  The other attendants will be Mrs. Alexander
Wolfe, Miss Olivia Gazzam of Philadelphia, sister of the bridegroom; Meredith
Todd, Marianna E. Robinson, Dorothy Haxall and Elizabeth La G. Burns.
  Alexander Van Pelt will be best man for Mr. Gazzam.   The ushers will be Arthur
M. Hurd, a cousin of the bridegroom; MIlton C. Baldridge, Robert Perry Redgers
and F. Abbot Ingalls of New York; Philip L. Leidy, John H. Blye Jr. Farnham.
