Please note:  The following found on Ancestry.com, and although I note it here for
reference, I question the date.  According to my sources, Nellie Andrews died in
1930, and the following has her still traveling in 1935.  I have sent for a death
certificate, but nothing returned to date.  I believe that this information is in error.

The following kindly sent from Ms. Ruth Berg, and I note it gratefully here this

Below, I note a letter sent from Nell to her Grandmother, Mary Vining.  This
dated ? 14th 1896, from Philadelphia.


"My dearest Grannie.
  Will's telegram came this morning, but I still hope for good news of you today.
We cannot spare our dearest Grannie yet.  She must get well for the babies who
love her.  There is no one to take your place with us.  We all love you and think
there is no one half as good.  Good bye dear Grannie...Always your loving and
devoted Grand Daughter, Nell".

- just the article.  Some of it is hard to read, so I will leave those

"The friends of Miss Nellie Mae Andrews, a charming girl and prominent belle of
this city for several seasons, who is at present at Asbury Park, with her mother,
Mrs. Benjamin Andrews, will be interested to learn that she will be married, on
the return of her father from Holland, in New York City, during September, to Mr.
Joseph M. Gazzam, a prominent capitalist of Philadelphia, Pa.  The marriage will
be a quiet one, only the immediate members of both families will be present at
the ceremony, as announcement cards only will be sent out.  Mr. Gazzam and
his bride will reside in Philadelphia, where he holds a high position both socially
and in business circles.  In speaking of Mr. Gazzam a Philadelphia paper says:
"The name of Joseph M. Gazzam has become a familiar one in the world of
money.  He is director in a large number of railroads, financial institutions and
development companies.  Ex Senator Gazzam is well known in this city, and
throughout Philadelphia, as a successful businessman.  He is involved in very
many public enterprises, being a director in nine corporations, including two
railroad companies.  He was largely interested with Ex United States Senator
William A. Wallace in big land transactions, and generally conceded to be a man
of large wealth.  He comes from ..........vania family, was.........graduate..... and
from Western University of Pennsylvania, at the age of 18, after which he

entered the land office of David Ried of Pittsburg, grew to manhood, formed a
partnership with A.G. Cochran, became director of the State of Pennsylvania in
the United States Law Association, and in 1879 moved to this city (Philadelphia).
In the same year General Benjamin F. Butler moved for his permission to

practice before the Supreme Court of the United States.  He was one of the
youngest lawyers ever granted the privilege.  He developed political ambition,
and was elected councilman from the First Ward of Pittsburg.  Five years
afterwards he went to the state senate from the forty-third senatorial district.  He
conducts his law business in the Girard building, where his office is now the
Philadelphia headquarters of such important enterprises as the Caledonia Coal
Company, Bloomington Coal & Coke Company, Deer Creek Coal Company,

Williamsport Gas Company, Wilke.... and Western Railroad Company,

Incandescent Light Company, E........Company and others."
