Paphlagonien ist der antike Name einer Landschaft am Schwarzen Meer, an der mittleren Nordküste Kleinasiens mit einer Ausdehnung von etwa 100 x 400 km. Im Westen grenzte es an Bithynien, im Osten an Pontus, im Süden an Phrygien und Kappadokien.

According to Strabo, the river Parthenius formed the western limit of the region, and it was bounded on the east by the Halys river.
