Ben M. Angel notes, regarding Galeran's first wife:

On the question of Oda vs. Alix, French Wikipedia supports Oda de Vexin. Alix de Vexin appears to be supported only by numerous GEDCOM files that do not appear to have a reliable source (I welcome a correction on this, if a reliable source, other than "someone else's GEDCOM or online family tree" does exist - "The Plantagenet Ancestry" by W.H. Turton provides no primary sources, see below). My best guess as to why Alix has appeared and proliferated on unsourced GEDCOM files is confusion with Alix/Alys de Vexin, who was born to King Robert VII of France a century and a half later:

http://familypedia.wikia.com/wiki/Alix_de_Vexin_(c1170-c1220)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alys,_Countess_of_the_Vexin

------------

The Plantagenet Ancestry is cited as listing Alix de Vexin as husband of Hugues I (the online sample does not carry the page showing this, unfortunately). Although a fascinating collection of charts of 7,000 names showing what appears to be researched relationships of the ancestry of the Plantagenets, the source material backing Alix de Vexin is not included within the online sample:

From the French Wikipedia page on Comte Galeran III de Meulan:

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gal%C3%A9ran_III_de_Meulan

English summary:

Galeran or Valeran III became the Viscount (Vicomte) Meulan in 1005. He called himself Count (Comte) shortly before 1015. He was the son of Hugh Vicomte Meulan and Oda du Vexin.

The year he was born is uncertain, but it is estimated to be between 990 and 995 as his father was born in 965, and he was sufficiently powerful to take the title of Count in 1015.

In 1013, he became an ally of the Comte Eudes II of Blois. He fought Duke Richard II of Normandy and King Robert II of France.

In a letter from the Bishop Fulbert of Chartres dated in 1015, he is addressed as Comte, and is encouraged to switch allegiances and side with the King of France. He also sides with the Duke of Normandy in 1023, and excludes from taxes the monks of Fecamp. Between 1027 and 1031, he opposes the Abbey Jumieges over the land of Bouafle.

In 1041, with his cousin Raoul Vexin IV, he rebels against King Henry I, but is defeated. He retains his lands with the support of the Duke of Normandy.

Galeran III dies on December 8, 1069, and his son Hugh III succeeds him.

He married Ode before 1015 (she was still alive in 1030), who gave birth to Hugh III (d. 1080), Comte Meulan, and Adeline (d. 1081), Comtesse de Meulan, who married Henry the Bearded (c. 1015 - d. 1094) Lord (or Seigneur) of Beaumont.

His second wife was Aelis, who gave birth to two other children: Galeran (cited in 1066 and whose branch continues until the 13th century) and Fulke (cited in 1069). There is no reason given why Galeran did not succeed his brother Hugh III on his death.

Another girl is known, although by whom she was born is not:

Duda, married to William de Moulins-la-Marche, son of Walter of Falaise.

(Marie is not listed.)

The charter dated Oct 1056 under which "Mellendis castelli comes Hugo natus patre Waleranno" donated property to the abbey of Jumièges[1906] shows that he succeeded as comte well before his father's death, assuming that this charter is correctly dated and that Waléran's date of death is as shown above. “Hugo comes Mellenti” founded the monastery of St Cosmus and St Damian, for the souls of “conjugis…Adelidis…genitoris mei comitis Galeranni atque Odæ genetricis meæ”, by charter dated 1067[1907].
