Nora's father nearly died of arsenic poisoning by a Cantonese baker when he was 4 1/2 years old. He went to England with his family in 1859 and set up his medical practice in Croydon. He was president of the Croydon Natural History and Scientific Society, and author of several books on natural history and Old Croydon. Dr. Hobson became a keen photographer in later life. OBITUARY Fri 17 June 1960 Fort William Daily Times Journal "Mrs. Nora Kathleen Sherren, aged 77, formerly of Fort William, died Thursday in Hospital after a long illness. Born in England, she came to Fort William in 1920 and resided here until 1946. Since then she had lived with her children. Her husband predeceased her in 1944. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery, Fort William, Ontario,Canada"
