In the churchyard, there is a tall domed-topped, square-shouldered headstone which reads;" Sacred to the Memory of James Sherren who departed this life November 16, 1804 aged 78 years Also of Mary Sherren, wife of the above, who departed this life April 21 1828 aged 92 years.
