While Caroline Ashers siblings Ernestina, Morris, William and Louisa Asher all came to the West of the USA, mostly California, USA, at least one sister remained--Caroline. Her son, a surgeon by the name of Dr. William Boss (Wilhelm), wrote about the conditions in Poznan, Wlkp., Poland as WWI had begun. Basically he says they'd seen no economic change and all seemed well. He also says he had the honor of giving a hospital tour to the Kaiserin Augusta Victoria. This article was published in the Lassen, California, USA paper 18 Dec 1914 but was in the San Francisco Call newspaper; Wroclaw, Silesia, Poland 30 Nov 1914 after William Asher received the letter.
