Dolores' Obituary
Dolores Delly, age 85, of Iowa Falls, died on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Scenic Manor in Iowa Falls under the care of Care Initiatives of Waterloo . Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday October 31, 2018 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls. Visitation will be 4-7 P.M. Tuesday at the Bethany Lutheran Church. The Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is in care of arrangments.
Dolores Fae Delly was born November 6th, 1932 near Ackley, Iowa, the daughter of Otto and Jennie (Riebkes) Winters. She attended country school near Faulkner Iowa, and graduated from the Ackley High School, Ackley, Iowa. On March 21st, 1953, Dolores was united in marriage to Lester Gordon Delly at the Evangelical United Brethren Church, Ackley, Iowa. To this union three children were born: Mary, Andrew, and Maria. She had several jobs over the years, mainly secretarial work which she enjoyed.
Dolores was presently a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Iowa Falls and was very involved in her church including: Sunday school teacher, confirmation leader, vacation bible school, bible study leader, prayer chain, circle, she was a member of both Progress Club and Women's Club, and served as a Girl Scout Leader and Den Mother. She enjoyed reading, devotions, writing, knitting, sewing, painting, and crossword puzzles, but mostly spending time with her family.
Dolores Fae Delly is survived by her husband: Lester Gordon Delly of Iowa Falls, Iowa; her children: Mary (Bear) Delly-Andrus of Sandy, Utah, Andrew (Shana) Delly of Prior Lake, Minnesota, Maria (Chad) Heetland of Ackley, Iowa; 10 grandchildren Bryan (Brand Willey) Kapustka of West Jordan, Utah, Kyle (Rebekah Sand) Kapustka of Minneapolis Minnesota, Alec (Christian Silva) Kapustka of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jake, Sam, Max, and Ben Delly of Prior Lake, Minnesota, Calli (Peyton) Williams of Waterloo, Iowa, Hannah and Andrew Heetland of Ackley, Iowa, a brother Dr. Paul (Bonnie) Winters of Mesa, Arizona, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Otto and Jennie Winters, a brother Vernon Winters, a sister-in-law LaVine Winters, a sister Mary Ann Cobie, and a brother-in-law Bernard Cobie."
