"Fannie Meyering Bride of Harold Berven

Miss Fannie Meyering, daughter of Mvi. Annie Meyering, and Harold Berven exchanged wedding vows at the Methodist church in Burr Oak on Sunday afternoon, July 10, with the Rev. C. W. Huffman officiating.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Meyering, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, were the attendants.

The bride was attired in a white nylon dress and carried a bouquet of red roses. Her attendant wore a pink dress and a white carnation corsage.

The bride's mother wore navy blue and had a pink carnation corsage.

The groom received his discharge from the Army in February. Mrs. Berven is a graduate of the Buffalo Center High School. The couple will reside on the Berven farm.

"Harold Berven Dies In New Jersey Mishap

Services are pending for Harold I. Berven, 34, of Britt, who was killed Tuesday, October 12, when his semi-trailer struck a utility pole near North Bergen, New Jersey.

Police said Berven apparently was trying to avoid a collision with a car ahead of him when the accident occurred, which was about 12:40 shortly after noon.

Berven was a trucker for the Ellsworth Tracking co. out of Eagle Grove. He and his family had farmed northeast of Buffalo Center a few years ago.

Surviving are his wife, Fannie; a daughter, Jeanie Marie, age 3; one brother, Alan Berven of Glenville, Minnesota; and a sister, Mrs. (June) Herman Wells of Hayward, California.

Mrs. Annie Meyering of Buffalo Center is his wife's mother."

"Last Rites Held Saturday, Oct. 16 For Harold Berven

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, October 16, at 1:30 p.m. for Harold I. Berven, 34, of Britt, who was killed instantly Tuesday, October 12, when the semi he was driving lit a utility pole at North Bergen, New Jersey.

Services were held at the Methodist church in Britt with the Rev. Warren Paige officiating. The Boughton Funeral flome at Britt was in charge of arrangements and interment was n Olena Mound cemetery at Buffalo Center. The pallbearerswere Johnny Meyering, Richard Meyering, Fred Meyering, Bert Wepel, Menno Folkerts and Larry Berven. Military rites were conducted at the cemetery by the Legion and V.F.W. Posts of Buffalo Center and Legion Post of Britt.

Harold Berven was born August 23, 1931, the son of Hawkin and Inger Hoverstein-Berven at Bricelyn, Minnesota. He received his education in the Eden Township Schools of Winnebago county and at the Buffalo Center Community School. He hadserved in the Army and received his honorable discharge.

On July 10, 1955 he was united in marriage to Fannie Meyering, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Meyering. They have one daughter, Jeni Marie.

The Bervens had resided in Britt for the past three years. He formerly worked for the Britt and Crystal Lake creameries before being employed by the Ellsworth Truck Line of Eagle Grove.

Surviving are his wife and daughter; one brother, Al Berven of Glenville, Minnesota; and a sister, Mrs. Herman (June) Wells of Hayward, California. <>
