"from their home. She graduated from Buffalo Center high school, then worked for Winnebago County ASC office and met Keith Hagenson on Main Street in Thompson. They were married June 22, 1956.
They started to farm in 1957 on a farm north of Thompson which did not have running water; they lived there for five years. Then they moved to near Buffalo Center. She also worked in the Timely Mission Nursing Home and Miller Pharmacy.She has been a past Sunday school and Bible school teacher and a 4-H leader. They attend the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Keith was the son of Art and Alice Hagenson of Thompson, Iowa, and was born in his grandparent's (Hagenson) home. He attended Linden No. 1 country school and Thompson high school. He was in the Army during the Korean War from 1952 to1954 and was stationed in Germany. He worked as a carpenter and for his uncle, Orlo, in the corn shelling business and Winnebago County ASC, and is presently farming southeast of Buffalo Center.
Keith and Shirley have three daughters: Sheryl (Mrs. Kim Davids), Vicki (Mrs. Rodney Wubben), and LeAnn (Mrs. Jeff Doyle); and seven grandchildren. They enjoyed camping trips and a special trip to Europe in 1977 with the girls, and theyhosted two Japanese girls two summers. ..."

"Keith Hagenson [January 14, 1931 - June 19, 2019]
Keith Arthur Hagenson, age 88, of Buffalo Center, died Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center. Funeral services for Keith were held Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Buffalo Center. Burial was in Olena-Mound Cemetery with military honors conducted.
Keith Arthur Hagenson was born January 14, 1931, at the family home in rural Forest City, the second son of Arthur and Alice (Solberg) Hagenson. Keith grew up in Thompson and attended country school and later Thompson Community School.
On June 22, 1956, he was united in marriage to Shirley Abels at First Congregational Church in Buffalo Center, Iowa. Together they made their home in Thompson and Buffalo Center and raised three daughters.
He was drafted into the United States Army May 22, 1952, to serve with the 51st Field Artillery Battalion, 6th Infantry Division. He received his basic training at Fort Ord, California, serving as a truck driver and later a ration clerk in Germany during the Korean War. After being discharged from the army in 1954, Keith worked at the ASCS office (Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service) and farmed until 1997, when he and Shirley moved to Buffalo Center. Together they enjoyed family vacations, delivering Winnebago motorhomes across the country, camping and wintering in Texas for 30 years.
Keith served as a board member for Farmers Coop Elevator, Cooperative Oil Company, church council and was a member of the American Legion for 50 years. He also was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
In retirement he enjoyed coffee time with the guys, woodworking, fishing, tractor rides, and tinkering in his shop.
Keith will be remembered as a kind, gentle man and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took an interest in their activities, jobs, and families.
Keith died Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Timely Mission Nursing home in Buffalo Center. He was 88.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of almost 63 years. Daughter, Sheryl (Kim) Davids, Buffalo Center. Their children, Jennifer (Brian) Kramersmeier, Megan (Andy) Wintz, Logan (Cassandra) Davids. Daughter, Vicki (Rod) Wubben, Buffalo Center. Their children, Jason (Rachel) Wubben, Nathan (Jamie) Wubben, Emi (Nick) Hartman. Daughter, LeAnn Doyle, Garner. Her son Eric Doyle. Also left to cherish his memory are 13 great-grandchildren. Sisters-in-law, Verlie Hagenson, Doris (Richard) Heyes, Cari (Dan) Mitchell, Marlene Abels (Andy Strom), and brother-in-law, Ron (Linda) Abels.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws John and Anna Abels, brother, Duane Hagenson, son-in-law Jeff Doyle, grandson Drew Doyle and sister-in-law Janet Abels.
