Lewis was the first of 14 children born to Thomas and Florence Bosma. He spent his entire life in the vicinity of Buffalo Center. As a young man, he worked as a farm hand for several of the area farmers. He also worked for Carl Wesselsduring the construction of the road which passed the south side of Stevens, Iowa. In the mid-1920's, he and a brother (Edward) started farming near Stevens, approximately six miles northwest of Buffalo Center."

On March 1, 1939, Lewis and family moved to the farm which he had purchased, approximately three and a half miles southwest of Buffalo Center. Lewis preceded his wife, Louise, in death by more than 13 years. they were members of theFirst Reformed Church of Buffalo Center since 1942. they are interred at the Olena Mound Cemetery near Buffalo Center."

"Louise Bosma, 85
Funeral services for Louise Bosma, 85, of Buffalo Center are being held today, Thursday, August 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center with the Rev. William Peake officiating. Interment is in Olena Mound Cemeterywith Winter Funeral Service in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Bosma died Monday, August 27, at Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center.
Casketbearers will be her five sons and her son-in-law, Arnold Bosma, Howard Bosma, Marvin Bosma, Glen Bosma, Donald Bosma and William Haraldson. She was born Louise Maass on November 3, 1898 in rural Lakota, Kossuth County, and spentall her life in the Buffalo Center area.
She was married September 14, 1927 to Lewis Bosma at Stevens and they farmed in the Buffalo Center area. Mr. Bosma died April 1, 1971.
Mrs. Bosma is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William (Doris) Haraldson of Houston, Texas and Shirley Bosma of Twin Falls, Idaho; five sons, Arnold, Wichita, Kansas; Howard, St. Paul, Minnesota; Marvin, Buffalo Center; Glen, Houston,Texas and Donald, Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren; three sisters, Emma and Olga Maass and Mrs. William (Anna) Blome, Elmore, Minnesota and a brother, Adolph Maass, Buffalo Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; herhusband, Lewis; three sisters and two brothers." <>
