Luella Augusta Maria Schadendorf was born July 11, 1914, at Marathon, to John and Lena (Kramersmeier) Junkermeier. Luella was baptized as an infant and later was confirmed in the Lutheran faith, to which she remained faithful. She received her education in the Rembrandt School system.
During her school years, one of her fondest memories was, starting at the age of 8, playing the tuba for the Rembrandt City Band, along with her father and siblings.
Luella was united in marriage to Alfred Schadendorf from Ledyard. After their marriage, the couple lived on the family farm near Ledyard for nine years. In 1944, they purchased a farm near Lone Rock, where Luella lived till the death ofher husband in 1975. At that time she moved her farm home to Lone Rock. In 2007, Luella took permanent residence in the cities and enjoyed the loving care of her daughter, Kathryn, and the company of her pet cat, Miss Kitty. Luella became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society - Algona in July, 2013.
Luella was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid. She also belonged to the Lone Rock School Band Mothers.
