Heiko H. Bruns was born on a farm near Titonka, Iowa on August 21, 1901 to Heiko and Margaret Frerichs Bruns. He received his education in the rural Titonka Schools.
On March 26, 1924, Heiko married Amanda Franzen at the Immanuel Lutheran Church and to this union 5 children were born. ... Heiko passed away on Wednesday, October 24 at the Kossuth County Hospital at Algona, following a lingering illness.
He is survived by his wife Amanda of Titonka, three daughters, Mrs. Art (Marvella) Post of Woden, Mrs. Erwin (Troyce) Post and Amanda Bruns both of Titonka, and one son, LeRoy and his wife Sandra of Titonka.

"Marvella Post
Marvella Post, 87, of Titonka, died on Friday, July 8, 2016 in Mason City[, Iowa]. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Titonka. [Visitation will be from 5:30 - 7:30 PM on Tuesday, July 12 at Oakcrest Funeral Home in Titonka, and an hour before the service on Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.]
Marvella Helen (Bruns) Post was born on November 8, 1928 to Heiko Jr. and Amanda (Franzen) Bruns at their home in German Township rural Titonka, Iowa. She was baptized on December 9, 1928, by Rev. Adolph Killian. She was confirmed on April 18, 1943, by Rev. William Planz. She attended German Valley School through the eighth grade. Marvella often remembered the happy times she and her soon-to-be husband, Art, spent together in Luther League.
On February 16, 1949, she was united in marriage to Arthur (Art) Post by Rev. William Planz. They made their home in rural Woden, [Iowa] where they lived and worked until 1992 when they moved into Titonka. Marvella devoted her life to caring for her husband, their two daughters and three sons, their home and extended family and friends. She was a life-long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was active with choir and WELCA. On the farm, she enjoyed the Corner Club and in Titonka, she particularly enjoyed her Bible study group.
Marvella died suddenly at the age of 87 on July 8, 2016. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Art; her children: Barbara (John) Greenfield of Northfield, MN, their sons David and Nathan; Marilyn (Roger) Tarbet of Eagan, MN; James (Karen) Post of Titonka, their children Rachel (Jason) Wubben and Scott (Jen Czachura) Post; Kenneth (Julie) Post of Titonka, their sons Daniel, Michael, and Christopher; Allen (Susan) Post of Woden, their children Gregory, Amanda, and Kyle. She had two great-grandchildren, Carter and Aubri Wubben. Also surviving are her siblings Troyce (Erwin) Post, LeRoy Bruns and Amanda Bruns; sister-in law Berneice (Dwayne) Maass; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Alfred, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Viona and Wilbur Welhousen, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Melvin and Berneice Post, a sister-in-law Sandra Bruns, and a granddaughter Christine.
Her close-knit family is a testimony to the love and devotion that she had for them. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Memorial funds may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
