Lela Bell Hill
The spelling, Belle, is found on the earliest document I have found containing Lela's middle name. That document is the wedding license for William Bowles and Lela Belle Hill. That is the only document on which Belle is found. Most documents have her middle initial only.
Family tradition has it Lela Bell was so small at birth that she was placed in a cigar box and placed in the warming oven. Her father's ring could fit on her wrist. This is the story as told by Rose Navorska.
Faith = Protestant. She had all of her children christened a Methodist church in Rocky River, OH.
