Funeral services for John J. Troff, 85, of Woden, who died Saturday, April 18, 1992 at Westview Care Center in Britt, were held Tuesday afternoon, April 21, at the United Presbyterian Church in Woden at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Willis Nicholsonofficiated.
Mrs. Steven Eden was organist and accompanied soloist Mrs, Dean Cataldo. Mike Missman served as usher. Casketbearers were Fred Hugo, Jr., Vernon Stohr, Don Isebrand, Robert Eden, Calvin Kurtzleben and Alvin Eden. Burial was in BinghamTownship Cemetery in Woden with Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Woden in charge of arrangements.
John J. Troff, the son of Menno and Maggie (Groen) Troff was born June 29, 1906 on a farm north of Woden in Grant Township in Winnebago County. He attended the rural schools of Winnebago and Hancock counties. John farmed one mile south ofWoden until 1980 when he moved into Woden.
For the past seven years he had resided at Westview Care Center in Britt, due to ill health.
He is survived by many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Menno and Maggie Troff and his sister, Hattie H. Troff, who died January 13, 1985." <>
