"Rites Held Here Friday For Abel Limberg
Abel Limberg, son of Jacob and Atlena Limberg was born May 19, 1890, near Allison, la., in Butler County. He came to Woden, Iowa, with his parents when he was two years old and had lived in the Woden and Buffalo Center area since then.He attended public schools in Hancock County. In his youth and young manhood he worked at farming in the vicinity.
On February 11, 1914, he was married to Minnie Kuper at Lakota, Iowa by Rev. Herman Kosak. After their marriage they farmed near Buffalo Center for many years. In 1914 they moved to Woden and lived there until 1960 when they moved toBuffalo Center because poor health made it impossible for them to continue fanning. They planned to -spend their remaining years nearer to the children and other relatives.
Abel Limberg passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sinclair Langsev, 2102 East 4th St., Waterloo, Iowa, on July 26, at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 7 days.
Mr. Limberg was a kind man; he had many friends and acquaintances who will miss him. Especially will he be missed by his wife and children who remember him as a devoted husband and kind father. He attended services at the WodenPresbyterian Church until ill health prevented. We, the members of the Woden church will miss his presence at the services and other activities of the church.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife with whom he lived for 46 years. Three sons, Menno, Amel and Bennie of Buffalo Center and one daughter, Mrs. Sinclair Langsev of Waterloo, Iowa. 10 grandchildren also survive. Three sisters are alsonumbered among the surviving family, Tracy, Mrs. William Boeckholt of Herman, Minn., Jennie, Mrs. Jacob Boltema of Grundy Center, Iowa and Katie Limberg, also of Grundy Center.
He was preceded in death by hfe parents, one sister, Lena, Mrs Johnson and one son, Alfred who died in 1944 while in the armed forces of our country.
Services for Mr. Limberg were held on Friday, July 29 at the Reformed Church, with Rev. I Hayenga and Dr. Henry Van-Dyke in charge. Burial was in Olena Mound cemetery, Buffalo Center, Iowa"
