On Labor Day, 6 Sep 1993, Thurlo V. Byers and Helen returned to Beersheba Cemetery, York Co, SC to further investigate the other sides of the grave marker, because "no self-respecting Scot would risk his skinflint reputation by using only one side of a grave marker".. At that time they found Capt. William Byers stone, which had been moved to the stone wall and that of Elizabeth (Walton) Byers.
(Note by HC - The Byers originated from Cornwall, England. Mr. Thurlo V. Byers is said to have played a hoax by posting his findings on the grave markers in the York County Genealogical and Historical Society Quarterly)
There is a mention of the listing of his offspring William b.1687 made of Elizabeth Walton, Joseph Walton and Nancy Hughes.. Elizabeth Walton is William's wife. Joseph may be a son and Nancy could be a married daughter.
