Mary Rebecca Wallace was born in York District, most probably at the still-existing family home on the family farm in the Turkey Creek area, daughter of Alexander Stuart and Nancy Lee Ratchford Wallace on May 28, 1842. [Her brothers and parents are buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, York, York County, South Carolina, with her sisters buried with their families elsewhere.]
Mary Rebecca Wallace and Capt. William McAliley married on 26 January 1866. The McAlileys farmed near Evans, South Carolina, being blessed with two daughters and five sons.
