Laura Bell's parents were William Thomas and Anna Elizabeth (BROOKS) JOHNSTON. Malcolm was a carpenter, cotton ginner, and worked at Ft Rucker. They were Baptist.

James Harold McALILEY recalls his father saying this about worrying: "Go fishing often and regular, and concentrate on your fishing, as it is good therapy and you cannot fish and worry at the same time;" and "To worry about something you cannot help is foolishness. If you can help, then do so and forget, and if not then do not worry always be concerned."

a. Guy Earl McALILEY (19 Apr 1923 Samson AL 18 Jul 1982 Foley AL) married Bryce (nmn) HORN (20 Aug 1922 Bellwood AL 13 Nov 1999 Foley AL) on 29 Sep 1945 in Portsmouth VA and had two children. Guy worked for the Rivera Utilities, Bryce was a nurse, they lived in Foley AL, and they were Baptist. Bryce's parents were Sheppard King and Sally Lou (McGOWAN) HORN. After Guy died, Bryce married Edwin EPPERSON (5 Jun 1916 Loxley AL ).
(1) Barbara Ann McALILEY (1 Apr 1947 Foley AL ) first married Ernest Henry HAWKINS (5 Mar 1945 Mobile AL ) on 2 Feb 1969 in Foley AL. She then married Wilson Thomas ASHBY, Jr. on 18 Dec 1971 in Tuscaloosa AL. She lives in Birmingham AL and works with families whose children have gotten AIDS through blood transfusions.

They were Baptist. Agatha's parents were John Abner and Melissa Jane (SMITH) BARKER. Willard worked for the A&P Grocery. Agatha lives in Panama City FL, works for Walmart, and attends the Methodist Church. She married Arthur SWEZEY in Jan 1995.

James Harold McALILEY recalls he and his brother, Willard, going across the road to where a fine Negro family lived. Aunt Bess had finished washing her clothes and was giving the children a bath. Willard, not noticing any significant change, asked Aunt Bess how she knew when they were clean. Aunt Bess rolled with laughter and said, "De blacker da gits dey cleaner dey is," and she laughed some more.

(1) Joel Lynn McALILEY (1 Oct 1949 Montgomery AL ) first married Pamela Kim HALL (10 Nov 1953 ) on 8 Dec 1975 in Tuscaloosa AL. He then married Anne Elizabeth NORTHCOTT (21 Sep 1954 Guelth, Ontario Canada ) in 1986 in Orange Co CA and had one child. They live in Melbourne, FL.
(a) Collin Northcott McALILEY (3 Jun 1993 Washington DC ).

(2) Marsha Luray McALILEY (14 Nov 1951 Montgomery AL ) married Kelly Charles CASSELL (9 Dec 1952 Greenville TX ) on 11 Jul 1975 in Austin TX and had two children. They are divorced. Charlie is a carpet layer. Marsha and the children live in Panama City FL.

Jo Ann's parents are William Grady and Nellie Kate (MURCHISON) MORRIS. Jim was in all four branches of the Armed Forces. He was in intelligence and became an RN after retiring from the military. He lives in Northport FL.
(1) Carolyn (Wendy) Gale McALILEY (22 Jan 1960 Ruislip England ) lives in Mobile AL.

(2) Gary Morris McALILEY (9 Jul 1961 Wetumpka AL 16 Aug 1980 Holmes Co FL) was killed in a vehicle accident and is buried in the Friendship Cemetery in Geneva Co AL.

(3) Bonnie Gwenell McALILEY (20 Mar 1970 Ft Rucker AL ) first married David BROOKS on 1 Feb 1993 in Gatlinburg TN. They divorced in 1995. On 28 Apr 2000 she married James Hubert McCABE in Orlando FL and they have one child. She works for Disney and Jim works for the Golf TV Network.

e. Kenneth Curtis McALILEY (7 Dec 1932 Lytle AL ) first married Martha Jo CLARK (22 Mar 1934 Eufaula AL 1 Feb 1984 Eufaula AL) on 27 Mar 1954 in Geneva AL and had two children. They are Baptists. Martha Jo's parents were Edward Leon and Mary Elma (CLENNEY) CLARK. After she died, he married Jessie WILLARD (15 Sep 1936 Pearson GA ) on 27 Sep 1991 in Eufaula AL. Ken was an Electrical Engineer with Alabama Power Company and lives in Eufaula AL.

He then married Susie Mae WILKERSON (5 May 19? Childersburg AL ) on 19 Jan 1972 in Childersburg AL and had one child. He then married Alma Doris (GABBERT) KEEFER (30 Apr 1941 Bonita LA ) on 2 Nov 1991 in Greenville MS. Doris had one child, Glenn Edward KEEFER (3 Dec 1966 Greenville MS ) by Glenn Nelson KEEFER (16 Feb 1936 Chambersburg PA 9 Dec 1989 Greenville MS). Mack worked in produce and then in textiles. They are Baptist and he and Dori lived in Leland MS. He is buried in the Leland Stoneville Cem.

(1) Elizabeth Lynn SHELLY (12 Jul 1960 Louisville KY 11 Apr 1995 Florence AL) married Ray Chesterfield HARVEY, Jr. (14 Dec 1935 Tyler TX ) on 21 Aug 1982 in Tuscumbia AL. Lynn was a Spanish Teacher and Ray is a College Professor in Brownwood TX. She is buried in the Greenview Mem. Park Cemetery.

(2) David Malcolm SHELLY (7 Mar 1963 Alabaster AL ) married Julie Ann BOLLMER (25 Sep 1967 Cincinnati OH ) on July 9, 1994 in Florence AL and have one child. David is a Captain in the U.S. Army and she is an elementary school teacher. They currently live in Colorado Springs CO. Julie is Catholic and David is Baptist.

h. Thomas Lee McALILEY (15 Mar 1940 Geneva Co AL ) first married Mary Ellen BOOTH (8 Sep 1940 Geneva AL ) on 5 Nov 1959 in Geneva Co AL and had two children. Ellen's parents are Robert and Annie Laura (CLARK) BOOTH. Thomas then married Lois Marie BRANNAN (27 Dec 1946 Montgomery AL ) on 19 Feb 1967 in Ozark AL and had two children.
