He was a retired registered nurse and also retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 20 years. He was a member of Masonic Life #24 of Albany, Ga. and Zamora Shrine Temple of Birmingham, Ala. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary McAliley; a sister, Elaine Price; and three brothers, Guy McAliley, Mack McAliley and Willard McAliley.Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Bonnie and Jim McCabe of Groveland, Fla. and Carolyn Gale McAliley of Mobile, Ala.; three brothers, Ken McAliley of Eufaula, Ala., Tommy McAliley of Sterrett, Ala. and Steve McAliley of Montgomery, Ala.; a sister, Pat Torbert of Florence, Ala.;and one granddaughter, Ashley McCabe of Groveland, Fla. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 15th from the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites and Masonic rites being performed at graveside. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 1 until 2 pm. Jim was the son of the late Malcom M. and Laura Bell Johnston McAliley. Malcolm McInnis McALILEY, Sr. (30 Dec 1899 Geneva Co AL 25 Apr 1972 Dothan AL) married Laura Bell JOHNSTON (12 Nov 1904 Piney Grove AL 26 Aug 1969 Geneva Co AL) on 21 Jun 1922 in Geneva Co AL and had nine children. Laura Bell's parents were William Thomas and Anna Elizabeth (BROOKS) JOHNSTON. Malcolm was a carpenter, cotton ginner, and worked at Ft Rucker. They were Baptist.
James Harold McALILEY recalls his father saying this about worrying: "Go fishing often and regular, and concentrate on your fishing, as it is good therapy and you cannot fish and worry at the same time;" and "To worry about something you cannot help is foolishness. If you can help, then do so and forget, and if not then do not worry always be concerned."
d. James Harold McALILEY (28 Sep 1928 Samson AL ) married Jo Ann MORRIS (24 Sep 1937 Wetumpka AL ) on 22 Jun 1958 in Titus AL and had three children. They were Baptists and are now divorced. Jo Ann's parents are William Grady and Nellie Kate (MURCHISON) MORRIS. Jim was in all four branches of the Armed Forces. He was in intelligence and became an RN after retiring from the military. He lives in Northport FL.

(2) Gary Morris McALILEY (9 Jul 1961 Wetumpka AL 16 Aug 1980 Holmes Co FL) was killed in a vehicle accident and is buried in the Friendship Cemetery in Geneva Co AL.
(3) Bonnie Gwenell McALILEY (20 Mar 1970 Ft Rucker AL ) first married David BROOKS on 1 Feb 1993 in Gatlinburg TN. They divorced in 1995. On 28 Apr 2000 she married James Hubert McCABE in Orlando FL and they have one child. She works for Disney and Jim works for the Golf TV Network.
