James Blount, 1st son of Capt. James Blount and his 1st wife, born
between 1655 and 1665, and died in 1716. He married Elizabeth Yelverton, and they had:
(1) Anne,
(2) Elizabeth [Elizabeth Blount married John Yelverton],
(3) James, and
(4) John. (*)
(5) Mary

"On Oct 5, 1703, he conveyed to Wm Tanner the plantation purchased from
Hannibal Hopkins, containing 100 acres on the west side of Mattacomac
Creek... He was one of the Justices of the General Court that met at the
house of William Branch in Chowan on August 2, 1716. His will, dated Feb 12,
1716, probated April 22, 1717, mentioned his wife, Elizabeth, and children:
John, James, Anne Wingate, Elizabeth Yelverton, Mary; and grandchildren:
James and John Yelverton and Sarah Phillips."

Note: James Blount was the Deputy Lord Proprietor of Albemarle Colony in Northeastern corner of North Carolina

WINGATE dwell and is where my late father JAMES BLOUNT dyed and is what my sd. father devied to my sister ANN by his last will, all Out Houses, Orchards, etc.
