Kind(eren):
Proven son of Samuel Hickman and Margaret DeWitt through deed.
From Michael Mizzell in his FTM "Ancestors of Mary Lu Benton":
"Much of the information between my other sources and the "Let's Meet the Gores" book match, but the children for Mary Ann Frink and William James Hickman DO NOT. I have from other sources that their children are Mary Ann and Hannah "Polly", but the Gore book has Nancy, Rebecca Ann and Dorcas".
From various sources I have a birth date of 10 Feb 1795. Also a marriage date of 1793 for the parents. (Susan Hancock has a birth year of 1790 and a marriage date of 1790)
Event: 1850 Census 1850 District of Horry Co. SC, # 867

Ent. 11 Apr 1797; Pat. 9 Oct 1799. (J-373)
Could the following deeds be for this William James Hickman b. 1790 m. Anna Frink? It seems that they are for an older William Hickman. Unless the year of birth is wrong, they must be for a William Hickman b. 1776!! This could be in the time frame of Samuel Hickman b. 1773.
