There are other Gaston families in Randolph County, Illinois,
from Abbeville District, South Carolina, as well as other families
who moved from that area to what Dodge called
"The Irish Settlement" in Evansville Precinct.

"was the first man in Illinois to give form and stability to the Reformed Presbyterian Church."

It has been noted that Rev. Samuel Wylie was cousin of Mrs. John Pillars.
