There are other Gaston families in Randolph County, Illinois,
from Abbeville District, South Carolina, as well as other families
who moved from that area to what Dodge called
"The Irish Settlement" in Evansville Precinct.

It has been noted that Rev. Samuel Wylie was cousin of Mrs. John Pillars.
