SIR AUBREY DE VERE, 1st son and heir apparent was a commissioner of arrayand J.P. in Suffolk in 1458. In 1460 he was in high favour with theQueen. He married, about April 1460, Anne, eldest daughter of Humphrey(STAFFORD), 1st DUKE OF BUCKINGHAM, by Anne, 10th daughter of Ralph(NEVILLE), 1st EARL OF WESTMORLAND. He was arrested, tried and condemnedwith his father, and being beheaded 6 days earlier on Tower Hill, he d.s.p., 20 February 146i/2, and was buried in the church of the AustinFrIars. His widow married, 2ndly, Sir Thomas COBHAM, according to moderndoctrine de jure LORD COBHAM, of Sterborough, who d. s.p.m., legitimate,1471, and was buried at Lingfield.
