"14 Samuel Ratchford. . . was living York County, South Carolina on 21 Feb 1814 according to the indenture recorded in Book G, Page 534, York County Courthouse, York, South Carolina The indenture confirmed the sale of 640 acres of land along Fishing Creek from Samuel Ratchford to Moses Ratchford, the property being land willed by William Ratchford jointly to Samuel and George. Samuel is also named in the wills of his father and mother (see pages 13-15, 17). Records from Macie McAliley copied from handwritten notes belonging to Elise Latimer Atkinson (Mrs. Christopher), Winnsboro, South Carolina and not dated, say Samuel Ratchford died 3 Feb 1821.
