He died November 16, 1954. The following is from the Lincoln Ledger. He was the husband of Evie Ross, daughter of William Hood and Jane Jaggers Ross. Obituary George W. Thomas George W. Thomas, 59, a retired farmer, died Tuesday morning at 8:15. He was a native of Lincoln County, a son of George and Pauline Lyle Thomas, now deceased. Mr. Thomas received his education in the Lincoln County schools. He was married to the former Evie Ross of Star City in 1919. Mr. Thomas was a World War I Veteran. He was a Presbyterian. Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. H. L. Dorraugh of Pensacola, Fla. and Jo Ann Thomas of Little Rock; one son, Roy Thomas of Star City; four sisters, Mrs. G. C. Ross of Star City, Mrs. Clay Ross of Monticello, Mrs. C. D. Russell of Pine Bluff and Pearl Thomas of Pine Bluff; two brothers Alphia Thomas and R. L. Thomas of Pine Bluff; and one grandchild. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Mt. Zion Church with burial in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. The Rev. John Hendrick officiated. Active pallbearers were Roy Fullbright, Carlie Chambliss, Levi Chambliss, Travis Calhoun, Willie Robinson, Jewell Carrington, Gus Rowell and Tom Mitchell.
