33.Purity Presbyterian Church is now located in Chester S.C. and was removed to the town from a location out in the country a few miles away, and I think on the Fishing Creek Road. In the DAR files in Columbia are tombstone inscriptions from the Old Purity Church burying ground and for the old Fishing Creek Presbyterian Church yard. I noted these and found these five (5) graves and all together and in the same row.
The inscriptions are taken from the graves and located as they appear:
ROBERT H. MILLER / BORN 16 MAR 1842 / DIED 15 MAR 1843
JENNET WHITE MILLER / DIED 22 FEB 1818 / AGED 53 YEARS hand (b.1765)
ROBERT MILLER / DIED 12 AUG 1831 / AGED 71 YEARS hand (b.1760)
JOSIAH MILLER / DIED 26 AUG 1826 / AGED 37 YEARS hand (b.1789)
ELIZABETH MILLER / DIED 27 SEP 1824 / AGED 30 YEARS hand (b.1794)
Children of Jane LYNN and John McGUIRE
Information on the family of Jane LYNN and John McGUIRE appears in three locations in Mrs. TORRENS' work and all three make reference to the McGUIRE family Bible and Jane LYNN having been born in the Parish of Connor. Mrs. TORRENS' work includes an extensive piece on the descendants of John and Jane,[19] a transcription from the McGUIRE family Bible,[20] and a narrative on "John McGUIRE, Washington and Randolph Counties, Illinois" as told by Mr. E. B. McGUIRE of Sparta, Illinois".[21]
Jane LYNN and John McGUIRE were married on 2 May 1793, had ten children before leaving Chester Co., South Carolina, and many descendants. Illinois Public Domain Land Sales show fairly extensive land purchases in Washington County, Illinois by their sons, Alexander W[ashington] McGUIRE and Henry L[ynn] McGUIRE, and a grandson, Leroy J. McGUIRE.

Josiah Miller
Birth: Aug. 26, 1788
Death: Aug. 26, 1826
The birth date selected for Josiah is one day before the earliest that the man could have been born based upon his monument inscription.
By his selected burial ground, Josiah Miller was presumptively a member of Purity Presbyterian Church, as were other members of his extended family. It is represented by at least one researcher each that Josiah had at least two children, a James and a Samuel, both by his wife Betsy, formally Elizabeth Lynn [Linn] McGuire Miller, who died prior to Josiah and was likewise buried at the church cemetery. So far only James is identified with descendants through marriage with a woman whose name might be Jinnetta Knox, but this is only of value if James is a child of this man. Thus much needs to be established as to descendants. Josiah is more strongly believed to be the son of Robert and Jennet White Miller, and thus the sibling of their nine other children. Jennet White Miller died prior to Josiah in 1815 and Robert after this son and each also are buried in Old Purity Cemetery. Robert is the son of Josiah and Elizabeth Hyndman [Hindman] Miller, and Jennet is the daughter of John and Ann Garner White, only the last lady known to be also buried at Old Purity Cemetery, her husband having been killed by Indians in Fairfield County (and it being assumed was buried there).
